The Old Lake Hotel & Golf Club, owned by the Bábos family, opened its doors in 1998 in the area that was once registered as a hunting estate of the Earl Esterházy family and later operated as a Tata game park. It is quite unique that the golf course can be reached in just one minute after turning off the M1 highway at the Remeteségpuszta exit, and we could always believe that we would be able to spend the next hours in the noise of the road, - thanks to the excellent design of the course - only for the drive range and gear. the three Par3 practice areas, arranged with great sense, are where you can accurately perceive the close proximity of the M1 motorway in the Austrian-Hungarian direction.
Old Lake is the Hungarian golf course, which hosted (three times, between 2004-2006) the first European women's professional competition, the Ladies European Tour.
It is definitely commendable how the more than 200-year-old former barn building is included in the daily life of the club from time to time, respecting and keeping in mind the traditions. Old Lake is almost the only Hungarian course where, upon returning from the game and resting on the terrace of the clubhouse, it is possible to watch the putts made by fellow sportsmen on the 18th green, toasting them, or perhaps laughing a little at them.
